Project Description

The Art of Irrigation

A once-in-a-century transformation took place in Victoria’s Foodbowl. A decade-long drought galvanised a diverse alliance of community and government organisations to address the growing crisis. The result was a $2 billion modernisation of the region’s century-old irrigation network.

My work captured for posterity the project’s magnitude and remarkable infrastructure against the backdrop of Northern Victoria’s natural beauty. Evocative imagery from the initial stages of the project was the subject of the exhibition Liquid Gold – The Art of Irrigation.

Liquid Gold had it’s debut in 2011 at the Sofitel Melbourne where it was opened by the Water Minister Peter Walsh. The exhibition went on to tour throughout Victoria and Australia.
