Project Description

Editions 2016

Years ago, my brother–knowing my fascination with cities–gave me the book Invisible Cities by Italo Calvino. Recently, a reference heard on the wireless inspired me to re-read these evocative vignettes of faraway and fantastic cities, fictitiously recounted by Marco Polo to his patron, Kublai Kahn.

The imagery that Marco Polo conjured is irresistible and provided inspiration for my new work.  These three were the first in the new series and were chosen to be included with Editions 2016, Tacit Contemporary Art’s annual survey of Victorian printmakers.  Editions 2016 featured 117 artworks by 43 artists.
